I have  areport that uses the Category Navigation bar, my problem is that the categories of my report are based on a querry, however the Extension doesn't allow to slect a querry as a category source (Only a table) is there a work arround that will allow me to use a querry as a category source?

Thanks

ManuelP

Hi ManuelP,

I am afraid this approach would not be that easy to implement. It would require a custom solution.

Ionut

Thanks for your prompt reply. Why is that some your extensions, sometimes allow the selection of a recordset as a datasource but some other only allow a table as a datasource?

Maybe this could be added to the list of enhancements for the next release

This is just how the extensions are designed to work and Dreamweaver integration may also impose certain patterns to be respected - it's not the case here, but we just implemented a simpler approach that is used in most cases.

The MX Navigation Pack engine builds the navigation condition (based on the n-1 relation between the two tables), which will filter the main Recordset.

Your request stays as a possible enhancement, indeed (but this is less probable to happen as the product has been discontinued, unfortunately).

Ionut

Hi Ionut,

Thanks for your reply,

I am dispointed to hear that this extension has been dicontinued, I have licensed quite a few of your great extensions, now I find that one more of my investmenst  just evaporated. ( I also licensed MX Dynamic Chart, MX Site Search, MX Coder Pack, MX RSS Reader, MX Calendar all these extensions have been discontinued) I think that Adobe should somehow compensate us for the money we invested in your now discontinued products.

Who should I contact in regards of my lost investment?

Regards

manuelp

We still offer 6 months of support for these extensions, so I don't think your investment is lost.

We were talking here about a product feature request, actually.

Ionut
